Three new Cyber-shots join the family – the WX50, WX70 and the water/freeze proof, 16mm slim TX200V.
Sony Cyber-shot TX200V
Updating the look of the TX line, the TX200V glass-covered card-like body is just 16mm thick and is waterproof up to 16′ and freeze-proof to temperatures as low as 14°f. It includes a 3.3″ touch LCD screen a wide 26mm lens, a x5 zoom and a built-in GPS.
The TX200V’s price is set at an eye-opening $499 and is available for pre-order at Amazon.
Sony Cyber-shot WX50 and WX70
These two new ultra compacts join the successful WX line, providing simpler, less expensive versions of the mighty WX10 and looking more like replacements for the WX5 and WX9.
Both cameras share a slim, 114/117 gram body a wide 25mm lens, a x5 zoom and a large maximum aperture setting of f/2.6 at the wide end of the zoom. Both have 1080p video with stereo sound and a functional optical zoom, Sony’s excellent sweep panorama and a slightly improved (declared) battery life of 240 shots per charge.
The WX70 adds touch-screen controls to the mix, enabled by a 460,800 dot, 3″ LCD screen. The WX70 will sell for $229 while the WX50 will sell for $199.
Update (Februray 27th, 2012): All these new Cyber-shots are available for pre-order at Amazon.
